Bike Ride for Brain Cancer

Bike Ride for Brain Cancer

08/03/2019 – 09/03/2019

Lucie Leonard was 34 when she lost her seven-year battle with brain cancer in 2012. Her mother, Robyn Leonard, quickly became a passionate consumer advocate for brain cancer research.

In response to the need for unprecedented amounts of tissue to drive genomic brain cancer research, Robyn established Brain Cancer Biobanking Australia (BCBA) a virtual network of fragmented collections of brain tumour tissue stored in biobanks Australia-wide.

The annual Bike Ride for Brain Cancer raises awareness and funding for the important work of BCBA. It’s a picturesque two-day drive from Sydney to the Hunter Valley, beginning at Lucie’s former school Barker College.
