During this one hour workshop, we will explain how to arrange your estate, prepare a will and the various ins and outs of setting up a trust specifically for a relative or loved one.

Will they find the Weedy Seadragon in time?

Written by award-winning author Wendy Blaxland, Maya and the Sea Dragon is a beautiful new work, brought to life by the performers at MSTYP. Packed with all the characters of the sea, puppetry, music, and the magic of theatre, this world premiere is part of Marian Street Theatre for Young People’s 50th birthday celebrations.

(This new Performing Arts Activity has proved to be a real hit for those who have already tried it. The experience takes everyone from a rehearsal to performance in one night.)
Hornsby Gang Show’s season this year runs from 5 -13 July with 8 performances. It is a great way to end a term of activities. Come and enjoy this year’s amazing show right in the heart of Hornsby at the Leslie Theatre, Barker College where there parking locally and good public transport.This year’s production team members Bec Canty, Julia Ralton, Lauren Webb, Cameron Porter, Ben Adam, Ellen Hopkins, Georgia Muxlow, Nikki Pearsall and Steph Vorrieter couldn’t wait to try on some of the costumes.

There is a cast of over 120 local Scouts and Guides is bringing you a brand new show with lots of original sketches, choreography and music. They are all passionate about making this a fantastic year and turn up every Sunday night to rehearsals with the same enthusiasm after their other scouting and guiding weekend activities and hikes.The cast, crew, orchestra and production team are putting the final finshes touches to the show. There will be Big Band and Broadway numbers and quieter pieces that will make you melt.

Production Director Bec, invites everyone to “Come along for a fantastic, family friendly night out, where you will laugh, smile, and dance in your seat!” Bec started in Hornsby Gang Show 13 years ago as a Girl Guide, loved it so much that she returned again and again. After 8 years on the production team she is now Production Director. Her early years in Hornsby Gang Show lead to her a career in performing arts. She now brings this experience to this year’s show.

The show’s Creative team and Production Teams develop and write a new show every year. Lauren, remembers the thrill of “hearing the whole cast sing a song I co-wrote, seeing how much they enjoyed something I worked hard to create and then hearing the cast bring it to life on stage.” A member of Normanhurst Rover Crew, Lauren has also kept coming back to be part of Hornsby Gang Show for 13 years!
“This year we have some fabulous new pieces and new arrangements of other original work for our orchestra and cast. They are really enjoying learning them and the audience will just love the final outcome.”

Katie is the winner of STEP’s Research Grant for the Conservation of Bushland. She is studying for her PhD at Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment, Western Sydney University.

A major component of creating positive relationships with others (family, carers, school educators friends etc) is the ability to form healthy attachments. The more secure the child, the more likely they will have the self-esteem and confidence to come to you, as their parent or carer when they’re in need. In this seminar we will explore secure and insecure attachments – and what you can do to create a healthy circle of security for your child.

This is the first seminar in a three part ‘Empowered Parenting’ seminar series which is open to parents of children currently enrolled at Future Stars as well as parents and carers living within our community. Participants can choose to attend one of the seminars – or all three. Links to purchase tickets are below.

Back to Nature is a collaborative art exhibition, featuring the artists of Studio ARTES (a not-for-profit arts based disability service for adults, and Hornsby TAFE Ceramics students, which explores themes including natural beauty, climate change, seasons and sustainability. The artists used mediums such as ceramics, photography, textiles, painting, drawing and sculpture.
