We are pleased to announce details of the 2018 Community Grants recipients
The Turramurra and Lindfield Community Grants Program has been running for almost ten years and has provided over $385,000 to various community groups and not-for profit organisations as part of our Community Grants initiative.
We are pleased to outline the recipients of the 2018 Community Grants:
Mum for Mum – This incredible organisation provides support for new mothers who don’t have a support network of their own. http://www.mumformum.org.au/
Mum for Mum received a $5,000 grant for their North Shore expansion – Allowing additional volunteers on the North Shore to be trained, the purchase of a computer and for the Mum for Mum coordinator to attend training so that she is up to date on current Mother-Child perinatal mental health issues.
Gordon Rugby Club received a $2,000 grant for purchase of a defibrillator for Chatswood Oval. We are slowly providing sporting clubs on the north shore with grants to ensure every sporting club has an accessible deliberator to save lives.
Cromehurst School – As long time and valued supporters of Cromehurst School we were pleased to grant $4,200 to allow for a shade sail to be constructed over the schools Liberty Swing.
2nd Turramurra Scout Group received $2,995 to replace external pedestrian doors on the highly accessed Scout Hall.
Kuringai Youth Orchestra – $2,600 – It’s all about the Bass!! This grant was used to meet half the cost of a new tuba (Ku-ring-gai Youth Orchestra meeting the other 50%)
Beaumont Road Public School – received $5,000 to assist in the installation of shade cover over the main kid’s playground. Turramurra and Lindfield are contributing $5,000 towards the project that is costing $80,955 in total.
West Lindfield Sport & Recreation Club – $5,000 grant towards a Bus Bay.
Turramurra and Lindfield Community Bank branches provided $5,000 towards building a Bus Bay so that the Lindfield Sports Facility can be used by schools. The total cost of this project is $133,000. A $80,000 grant from the NSW government has been obtained towards this project also.
The Shepherd School for Deaf Children – $5,000 – A Sound Start to School. The funds from this grant will finance a program to provide support for children from within Ku-ring-gai with hearing loss and their families before they start primary school.
Rotary Club of Wahroonga – $4,000 – Youth Hub and Junior Gym Centre at the PCYC Hornsby Ku-ring-gai.
This project cost $39,000 to fitout the Youth Hub and Junior Gym Centre at the new PCYC in Hornsby – $4000 of that was provided by the Turramurra and Lindfield Community bank branches.
These groups rely on donations from members of the public and businesses like ours.
