 The Apron Project

Strength is her Super Power

Strength is the inner power to withstand whatever comes our way. Strength is our capacity to endure in the midst of tests and as we grow in strength we are able to tackle life’s challenges with courage and determination.

The theme for the 2018 Apron Project was borne from a comment made by a young boy who likened the aprons to superhero capes.

In the last three years over 100 artists from Australia and overseas have presented more than 200 hand painted aprons with original designs and raised much-needed funds for the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter and this year is no exception.

The gallery of creative aprons is hitting the road in early 2019  for a tour of NSW. Leading the charge is Sallianne McClelland – 2018 NSW Woman of the Year for Hornsby and Westfield Local Hero. Sallianne will be taking the aprons and her message to communities on a 2600 kilometre journey.  Sally will be speaking and raising awareness about Domestic and Family violence while providing an opportunity to raise funds for local Women’s services in each town

A Finale and auction for a chance to purchase one of these magnificent aprons will be held on March 8, 2019 – International Women’s Day.  Tickets available: HERE
